Introduction

My name is Lauren and I am from Columbus. I like to shop, read, go to concerts, and get involved in my sorority. I am in this course to fulfill a requirement but am expecting to gain a lot from it. I want to know how to use technology in my classroom and also be able to use it as an effective learning technique for my kids. I think that technology in the classroom is a great idea for many reasons. Children respond well to computers, games, and other tools like this. It is more engaging for them and also, in a way, tricks them into learning something while having fun. There are many different needs as far as learning is concerned for the children in classrooms and using technology is just another way to reach those kids who learn best by engaging. The only negatives I can think about are the cost for the classroom teacher (when the school can not fund this types of things) and also simplicity of the technology because they are children and do tend to break things :)
