Now that the class is halfway over, I am starting to see the benefits to using technology in the early childhood program. Some of the things that we do in class, like spreadsheets and databases, I feel at too advanced for some early childhood students, especially younger ones. I am finding somethings that would be beneficial and am learning things that I can use for classroom management. Though I feel that this class is beneficial, I do find myself overwhelmed at times and am not spending much time on the activities but feeling more so that I need to rush through them to get them done. Because of this I feel that I am not gaining as much from them as I should.
Overall, I enjoy using the technology with students and will most likely continue to use it with my own students some day.

Lauren,
I completely agree with you half-way reflection. Although I do see why databases and spreadsheets would be too complicated for the students we may be teaching, I feel they are good to learn about and know how to utilize because we as teachers can use them for benefit ourselves! As for all the work and being overwhelmed, I am right there with you. Just try to remember that no matter how bad it sucks to have to feel rushed and stressed with all the work, there is nothing we can do to change it, so we mine as well make the best of the situation and learn as much as possible! Also, just some friendly advice, I find going to the gym and just running for 30 minutes helps me relive some stress! Give it a try and hopefully it will help! Keep up the good work!
There are so many benefits to using technology in the early childhood classroom and I am glad that during this class we have had a chance to start learning how to do just that! There is one thing that bothers me about technology though and that is how it makes me feel sometimes (overwhelmed and stressed!) Technology is suppose to make things easier but to be honest I feel like it just gives me more work to do! Since everything is suppose to be done faster with technology, it feels like we are just given more work to do! I value time that I spend with my family the top priority in my life and I wish that I had more time to spend with them! So if technology is suppose to make our lives easier why don't we let it? As a teacher I want to help my students find a balance between technology and real life, because I feel that that is what is important!
